Law of Attraction and The "Smiley-Factor"
Lynn Grabhorn, in her book, "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting," points out that, " Every time we think of anything, we're flowing some kind of positive or negative energy..." Though I believe energy is simply energy; I definitely get the point she's making. And she's basically right; anytime we think of anything, we are experiencing some kind of emotional response -- either positive or negative -- and that response sets our "vibratory tone," or essentially harmonizes us with those things that we could generally expect to cause similar emotions within us -- either positive of negative. If you can figure out how to keep it "positive," or keep your thoughts such that they keep you in a "positive vibration," or "good vibes," as they say, then you've got it made.
Expert author Gary Evans, in his article titled, "Stop Visualizing to get Manifestation," points out that visualizing for the sake of getting something you don't have is simply an exercise on focusing your mental energies on lack. Essentially, Gary is warning that this approach, or this reason for approaching the act of visualizing or thinking about your desires, is generating the "negative flow" Lynn Grabhorn writes about. Certainly, it is limiting your "positive flow" of energy -- both the "out-going" thought energy and the in-coming energy of your manifestation or desire. Gary's point: If you want this thing so you can feel good, then start 5B4having fun now in order to set your emotional tone and create the ideal mental, emotional, and physical conditions for realizing, experiencing, or attracting your desire.
Years ago, while studying a particular method of meditation, I was told to "remember the 'smiley-factor." Basically, there are so many ways you could experience the fulfillment of your desire that you need to establish that you want this desire to arrive in such a way it makes you smile. The idea is to visualize yourself smiling as you are having fun experiencing the reality of your desire being fulfilled. An example I was given -- as a sort of warning -- was that you might visualize yourself receiving a large sum of money; but, if you aren't smiling when you receive the check, it could be because it is an inheritance from your favorite relative who died prematurely. The "smiley-factor," therefore, could be viewed as a sort of "Attraction Insurance" -- one step you can take to insure against the "unseen downside" that is so common in Law of Attraction stories, or stories about Genies granting wishes. Dream big; but make sure you're having fun -- and smiling!
